Job summary

Alliance Material Handling Inc in Akron, OH is seeking an experienced forklift mechanic/field service technician to join our team. This field-based role starts each day from home and travels to customer sites, with a company-provided truck and independent work style.

You will diagnose, repair, and maintain forklifts, service batteries and chargers, and perform preventive maintenance while communicating clearly with customers. Not remote; travel to various sites is required.

Qualifications

• Experience as forklift mechanic, diesel mechanic, or equipment technician.
• Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills.
• Ability to work independently in the field.
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
• Your own tools.
• Ability to lift up to 100lbs.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose, repair, and maintain forklifts (electric, gas, LP).
• Service industrial batteries and chargers.
• Perform preventative maintenance and inspections.
• Travel to customer sites throughout the day.
• Communicate directly with customers on repairs and recommendations.
• All other responsibilities/duties as assigned.

PLEASE NOTE: This is a field-based position. Applicants must live within a reasonable commuting distance of Akron, Ohio, as they will travel directly to customer locations throughout the territory. This is not a remote position.

Compensation: Starting at $24/hr, based on experience
