Douglas County, Wisconsin, is seeking a Maintenance Worker to operate and maintain motorized equipment used for county road construction, repair, and maintenance, including trucks, dozers, rollers, graders, excavators, and snowplows. The work is under the supervision of a foreman.

The position is full-time (40 hours/week) with CDL training provided if not licensed. Wage ranges from $22.92 to $24.73 per hour, with increases after licensure and testing.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience operating heavy equipment.
• Valid driver’s license; Class A CDL within three months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain motorized equipment used in highway maintenance.
• Plowing, sanding, and road repair as needed.
• Perform minor repairs and routine maintenance on equipment.
• Be on call for weather-related emergencies and snow plowing.
• Document time, equipment usage, and material usage.
