Job summary

Oneida County is seeking a Highway Operator to maintain and repair highways, operate equipment, and support snow removal from Minocqua in winter to Rhinelander in summer.

This full-time county role requires a CDL Class B with tanker and air brake endorsements, a high school diploma, and the ability to live within 25 minutes of the Minocqua shop. The position is based in Wisconsin and offers a competitive wage and benefits.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Three years work experience in highway maintenance or closely related work.
• Must live within 25 minutes of the Minocqua shop.
• CDL Class B license with tanker and air brake endorsements; Class A preferred.

Responsibilities

• Repair, clear and maintain highways, roads, rights-of-way and roadsides using vehicles, equipment and hand-tools.
• Assist in flagging traffic and other manual labor tasks.
• Snow removal and storm damage cleanup.
• Perform minor repairs and routine maintenance of department vehicles and equipment.
• Other duties as assigned.
