Job summary

Accura Engineering seeks a CEI Inspector to perform construction engineering and inspection for roadway, bridge, and transportation projects. You will conduct field inspections, verify materials and workmanship, maintain project documentation, and support project engineers throughout construction.

The role involves coordinating with teams, contractors, and stakeholders, reviewing plans, and preparing inspection reports. A valid license and GDOT certifications are advantageous.

Qualifications

• Progressive transportation technician or construction inspection experience (18 months–3 years) with a State Highway Agency or consulting firm.
• Ability to read and interpret construction plans, specifications, and contract documents.
• Certifications listed (GDOT WECS, GDOT Field Concrete Technician Certification) and related tests to be obtained within required time frames.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to operate a motor vehicle as per state law.

Responsibilities

• Perform independent inspections of roadway and bridge construction activities to ensure compliance with plans, specifications, contract requirements, and standards.
• Inspect asphalt and concrete materials, pavement placement, compaction, alignment, depth, and overall construction quality.
• Monitor and inspect traffic control devices and erosion/sediment control measures.
• Prepare reports and maintain inspection records and project documentation.
• Supervise or provide directions to inspectors as assigned.
• Assist with construction management duties on resurfacing, striping, safety improvement, and bridge projects.
