Job summary

Accura Engineering seeks a CEI Inspector to perform construction engineering and inspection services for roadway, bridge, and transportation projects. You will conduct field inspections, verify materials, maintain records, and support project engineers throughout the construction process.

Responsibilities include inspecting asphalt and concrete, monitoring traffic control, preparing reports, and assisting with project meetings and closeout.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 18–36 months of transportation technician or construction inspection experience.
• Experience inspecting roadways, bridges, transportation, or heavy civil construction projects.
• Ability to read and interpret construction plans, specifications, and contract documents.
• Knowledge of highway construction materials, methods, equipment, and inspection procedures.
• Obtain required certifications within specified time frames.

Responsibilities

• Perform independent inspections of roadway and bridge construction activities to ensure compliance with plans, specifications, and contract requirements.
• Inspect asphalt and concrete materials, pavement placement, compaction, alignment, depth, and overall construction quality.
• Inspect structural components and operations including foundations, excavation, piling, reinforcing steel, and concrete placement.
• Monitor and inspect traffic control devices and erosion/sediment control measures.
• Conduct field measurements and calculations for pay quantities and maintain contract documentation.
• Prepare reports and document project activities and findings.
• Supervise inspectors performing routine inspection activities as assigned.
• Communicate effectively with project teams, contractors, and stakeholders.
