Job summary

Highpoint Health Winchester with Ascension Saint Thomas is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) for Women’s Services Labor & Delivery to provide direct patient care on nights, including 3x12 shifts (7pm-7am) with rotating weekends. This role offers a $10,000 sign-on bonus and a path to make a meaningful difference for mothers and babies.

Qualifications

• Current Tennessee or compact RN license.
• Associate's degree from an accredited nursing school; BSN preferred.
• Certifications: BLS within 30 days of hire; ACLS within 6 months; NRP within 3 months; STABLE; AWHONN Fetal Monitoring within 1 year preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provides direct patient care to patients using the nursing process per scope and standards of practice.
• Performs plan of care intervention including medication administration, specimen collection, clinical treatments, and other medical care.
• Documents patient care given.
• Monitors, records, and communicates patient condition to care team, physician, patient, and family.
• Assists patients with activities of daily living (hygiene, elimination, nutrition, ambulation).
• Collaborates across disciplines to coordinate patient care, including transfers, discharge, and spiritual/psychosocial support.
• Evaluates learning needs of patient/family and provides education appropriate to age, culture, condition, and circumstances.
• Works as an advocate for the patient’s physical and emotional well-being.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
