Job summary

Sheppard Pratt is seeking an Unit Manager for the Thought Disorders unit in Towson, MD. The role requires clinical leadership and 24/7 operational oversight of the unit, with focus on safety and therapeutic care for patients with psychotic illnesses.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited nursing program; or diploma with 4+ years inpatient psychiatric experience.
• Current Maryland RN license.
• Progressively responsible inpatient psychiatric nursing experience.

Responsibilities

• Provide 24-hour operational management of the unit.
• Manage budgets and staffing to meet census and budgets.
• Respond to acuity changes and ensure safe, therapeutic care environment.
• Apply clinical expertise to patient care, staff development, and treatment planning.
• Participate in marketing, teamwork, quality improvement and customer relations.
• Supervise nursing, rehabilitation services and support staff.
