Job summary

Sheppard Pratt Health System is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Thought Disorders unit in Towson, MD. The role involves 36 hours weekly, 7PM–7AM with rotating weekends, in-person care.

You will work on a 22-bed unit caring for patients with psychotic disorders under psychiatrists and a multidisciplinary team. Requires an active Maryland RN license and CPR certification; psychiatric nursing experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Must hold current RN license in Maryland (or compact state) at time of appointment and maintain throughout employment.
• Experience in a psychiatric nursing setting preferred.
• AHA CPR required before first day of employment.

Responsibilities

• Perform a full range of professional psychiatric nursing services, including assessment, planning, administration and evaluation of patient care.
• Administer medical treatment as prescribed by physician.
• Teach and provide psychosocial support to patients and families.
• Provide day-to-day clinical direction to assigned Mental Health Workers or other staff.
• Document and report patient progress to the treatment team.
