The role advances staff development, fosters collaboration with residents, families, and team members, and supports a positive work environment. BSN preferred; RN license required; 2+ years LTC/post-acute care and 1+ year supervisory experience advised.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing; BSN preferred.
• Minimum of 2 years clinical experience in long-term care or post-acute setting.
• Minimum of 1 year in a supervisory or management role preferred.
• Working knowledge of nursing practice, infection control, and regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities

• Supervises nursing care provided by RNs, LPNs, and CNAs/STNAs.
• Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with policies and laws.
• Interviews, hires and trains employees.
• Plans, assigns, and directs workflow.
• Prepares work assignment sheets considering resident safety and staff capabilities.
• Receives calls and finds replacements for absent staff as needed.
• Transfers employees within units as needed.
• Prepares performance evaluations affecting tenure and raises.
• Schedules breaks and resolves employee complaints.
• Monitors and corrects job performance;Disciplining staff as needed.
