Job summary

The Unit Manager at Metropolitan Behavioral Health, a UHS facility, provides administrative and clinical supervision to all nursing staff and mental health technicians on two or more units.

This leadership role acts as a liaison to department directors to ensure coordinated and efficient operations, while overseeing training, supervision/evaluation, and staff scheduling, and performing direct patient care as needed.

Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited professional nursing program; BSN preferred.
• A minimum of 5 years of progressive nursing leadership experience.
• Currently licensed by the State of Michigan as an RN.
• Knowledge of Leadership, Joint Commission, CMS, OSHA requirements, and state and federal regulatory requirements.
• CPR certification.

Responsibilities

• Provide administrative management, training and supervision/evaluation of all nursing staff, house supervisors, and unit clerks.
• Prioritize and delegate duties; manage staff scheduling.
• Perform direct patient care services in the nursing capacity.
• Collaborate with physicians and other department managers to ensure coordinated operations.
• Supervise two units (A and B as referenced) within Metropolitan Behavioral Health.
