Salary

Pay: $81,900 - $99,450 / year

Overview

The Unit Manager is responsible for the nursing services and oversight of social programming for all residents on his/her assigned unit on a twenty-four (24) hour basis. This involves communication with physicians, families, co-workers, and other healthcare professionals, as well as management and evaluation of nursing staff performance, including hiring and termination. The individual is responsible for nursing care reporting, documentation, planning, implementation, and evaluation.

Responsibilities
  1. Ensure the development, implementation, and evaluation of residents' nursing care plans, and coordinate interdisciplinary goals and approaches to address residents' healthcare needs.
  2. Maintain the unit and environment in good order for the well-being of staff and residents.
  3. Attend all meetings and required or preferred in-service training as requested by the Administrator and Director of Nursing.
  4. Generate and develop ideas to improve the quality of care for residents or increase job productivity and satisfaction.
  5. Encourage staff involvement and recognize exceptional contributions.

Qualifications
  • Possession of a state license in the applicable state and current registration to practice as a Registered Professional Nurse or Licensed Practical Nurse.
  • Minimum of two (2) years of nursing experience and at least one (1) year in a nursing leadership role.
  • Interest or experience in geriatrics.
  • Current BLS/CPR certification.
  • Experience with dementia populations is desirable.

This position requires regular interaction with residents, coworkers, visitors, and/or supervisors. To ensure a safe work environment and effective communication, the employee must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English at an intermediate or higher level.
