Job summary

Hackensack Meridian Health in New Jersey is seeking a Registered Nurse to deliver evidence-based patient care, coordinate with care teams, and utilize bar-scanning and documentation technologies for safe medication administration. The role requires an active NJ nursing license and BLS/CPR within 60 days of hire.

Applicants should have a minimum of 6 months nursing experience or be an active participant in our Nurse Residency program.

Qualifications

• Must hold a current and valid New Jersey Nursing license.
• BLS/CPR certification by American Heart Association within 60 days of hire.
• Minimum 6 months of nursing experience or active participation in Hackensack Meridian Health Nurse Residency program.
• Telemetry certification preferred.
• ACLS and NIH certifications preferred.
• Step down progressive care experience preferred.
• BSN in progress or willingness to obtain within 3 years of hire.
• Strong teamwork, accountability, and commitment to lifelong learning in a patient‑centered care environment.

Responsibilities

• Delivery of nursing practices according to evidence-based research, policies, and standards of care to ensure safe, high-quality patient care.
• Ongoing communication with patients, nursing colleagues, and other health care team members about patient status, care provided, and treatment plans.
• Medication administration using bar-scanning and documentation technologies to ensure safe delivery of medications.
• Document ongoing Point-of-Care assessments, plans of care, interventions, and evaluations.
• Provide patient and family education to optimize health, wellness, and disease management.
• Support multi-disciplinary discharge planning to ensure safe transition and continuum of care.
