Job summary

STHS Heart in McAllen, Texas is seeking a Registered Nurse to lead nursing care for patients admitted for medical conditions or surgeries, providing safe, evidence-based care and professional leadership. Requirements include Texas RN licensure (or compact-state license), BLS, and an ADN with BSN preferred.

Qualifications

• One year full-time experience in acute care or three years part-time in acute care.
• Commitment to Compliance Program and Code of Conduct; report issues as required.
• Current Texas RN license or compact-state license; temporary Texas license acceptable for new graduates awaiting permanent license.

Responsibilities

• Manage patients admitted or being seen for medical conditions or surgical procedures.
• Provide safe, competent nursing care per policies and standards.
• Offer professional leadership and support to the healthcare team; guide and evaluate nursing care.
• Coordinate with hospital staff and ancillary departments to resolve patient care concerns.
• May require weekend, holiday, or after-hours coverage.
