Job summary

South Texas Health System in McAllen, TX seeks an experienced Registered Nurse to manage care for patients with medical or surgical conditions and to provide professional leadership within the nursing team. The RN will assess, plan, guide and evaluate nursing care in accordance with facility policies and philosophy, emphasizing Patient Centered Care as the foundation of all nursing activities.

The role may require weekend, holiday, evenings, nights, and on-call status.

Qualifications

• Prefer one year full time or three years part time experience in acute care setting.
• Must demonstrate commitment to Compliance Program and Code of Conduct with required training and reporting issues to Compliance Officer.
• Must have and maintain BLS.
• Must have and maintain current ARC/AHA certifications as applicable.

Responsibilities

• Manage patients admitted or seen for medical conditions or surgical procedures.
• Provide professional leadership and support to the healthcare team.
• Ensure patient-centered care forms the foundation of all nursing care.
• Oversee and guide nursing staff under supervision; interact with hospital staff and ancillary departments to resolve issues.

Education

Associate/Bachelor/Diploma in Nursing
