Job summary

STHS McAllen is seeking a Registered Nurse to lead nursing care for patients admitted or seen for medical conditions or surgical procedures. You will assess, plan, guide, and evaluate care, providing professional leadership to the healthcare team in accordance with hospital policies.

Ideal candidates will hold a Texas RN license (compact allowed), BSN preferred, and maintain BLS and ARC/AHA certifications. Some weekend/evening/night/on-call work may be required.

Qualifications

• Prefer one year full time or three years part time experience in acute care setting.
• Must demonstrate commitment to Compliance Program and Code of Conduct.
• Must possess Texas RN license or compact state license; temporary TX license allowed until permanent.
• BSN preferred; educational degree required as per nursing program rules.
• Maintain BLS at all times.
• Maintain current ARC/AHA certifications (BCLS/CPR, ACLS) as applicable.

Responsibilities

• Manage patients admitted or seen for medical conditions or surgical procedures.
• Provide professional leadership and support to the healthcare team.
• Assess, plan, guide, and evaluate nursing care per facility policies and standards.
• Oversee nursing staff under supervision and coordinate with hospital/ancillary departments.
• Occasional weekends, holidays, evenings, nights, and on-call status may be required.
