Job summary

The Alden Network is seeking a registered nurse or licensed practical nurse to provide direct patient care and supervise nursing assistants. The role emphasizes adherence to federal, state, and facility guidelines to ensure high-quality care.

Qualifications

• Must hold an active RN or LPN license in Illinois and/or Wisconsin.
• CPR certification required or obtained within two weeks.
• Solid knowledge of nursing and medical practices and procedures.
• Interest or experience in geriatric care.
• Excellent reading, writing and spoken English.
• Ability to make independent decisions when warranted.
• Ability to interact tactfully with customers, families, staff.
• Demonstrated leadership and supervisory abilities.
• Personable, enthusiastic, and resourceful team member.

Responsibilities

• Accepts and supports as directed by appropriate authority.
• Plan, organize, implement, evaluate, and direct nursing care for a unit.
• Directly supervise and instruct staff to promote job knowledge.
• Ensure all staff follow departmental policies and procedures.
• Assist in developing a written plan of care for each customer.
• Attend and participate in customer care plan conferences.
• Report concerns to the Administrator.
• Chart nurses' notes reflecting care provided and customer response.
• Complete required assessments upon admission, transfer, and discharge.
• Place orders for medications and treatments as necessary following budgetary guidelines.
