Job summary

Qualifications

• Must possess a current, unencumbered RN license for Illinois and/or Wisconsin.
• CPR certificate current or must be certified within two weeks of employment.
• Must be knowledgeable of nursing practices and procedures.
• Demonstrates interest and/or knowledge in care of the aged.
• Must read, write, and speak the English language clearly.
• Must possess the ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action.
• Must possess leadership and supervisory ability and willingness to work harmoniously with other personnel.
• Must be personable, enthusiastic, and resourceful.

Responsibilities

• Plan, develop, organize, implement, evaluate, and direct nursing care for a unit.
• Directly supervise and instruct nursing staff on topics to promote knowledge.
• Ensure all staff follow established policies and procedures.
• Assist in developing a written plan of care for each customer.
• Attend and participate in care plan conferences.
• Record and report concerns to the Administrator.
• Maintain warm, professional environment throughout the department.
• Place orders for medications and treatments as necessary following budgetary guidelines.
