Job summary

Hartford Nursing & Rehabilitation Center is seeking an RN Staff Development Coordinator to plan, implement, and evaluate orientation and ongoing staff education to ensure high-quality resident care in line with CMS and state standards.

Role includes supervising RNs, LPNs, and CNAs, coordinating training, and partnering with leadership to foster safety and accountability. Requires RN license with management/supervision in long-term care and prior staff development experience.

Qualifications

• A registered nurse with management or supervisor experience in long-term care or geriatric nursing.
• Prior experience in staff development, education, or leadership preferred.
• Strong knowledge of CMS regulations, state requirements, and long-term care standards.

Responsibilities

• Assesses the competencies and training of nursing care provided by Registered Nurses, Licensed Practical Nurses and Certified/State Tested Nursing Assistants.
• Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organizational policies and applicable laws.
• Supervisory responsibilities include: Interviews, recommends hires, and trains LPNs and Certified/State Tested Nursing Assistants; Plans, assigns, and directs work; Prepares work assignment sheets; May receive calls and find replacements; Transfers employees among units; Prepares performance evaluations; Disciplines employees; Approves correction of timekeeping records; Receives and resolves employee complaints; Determines rotation of employees; Monitors and corrects job performance; Uses independent judgment.
