Job summary

Ciena Healthcare is seeking a Registered Nurse for Staff Development Coordination to lead orientation and ongoing education for nursing staff in a skilled nursing facility. The role emphasizes safety, quality outcomes, evidence-based practices, and accountability.

The RN will supervise nursing staff, ensure regulatory compliance, plan training, and collaborate with leadership to drive resident care excellence in Michigan facilities.

Qualifications

• RN with management or supervisor experience in long-term care or geriatric nursing.
• Experience in staff development, education or leadership preferred.
• Strong knowledge of CMS regulations and long-term care standards.

Responsibilities

• Assesses competencies and training of nursing care by RNs, LPNs, and CNAs.
• Supervises staff per policies and applicable laws.
• Interviews, hires, and trains LPNs and CNAs; plans and directs work.
• Prepares assignment sheets considering resident safety and staff abilities.
• Receives calls, finds replacements, and transfers staff between units.
• Prepares performance evaluations impacting tenure and wage increases.
