Job summary

Gretna Health & Rehabilitation Center in Gretna, VA is seeking an RN for our Staff Development Coordinator position. The SDC will design and provide required education to the entire staff and manage employee health.

Responsibilities include coordinating in-service programs, partnering with HR for orientation, and serving as Infection Control Nurse with reporting duties. A licensed RN with 2–4 years of nursing experience is required; CNA teaching capability is a plus and supported upon hire.

Qualifications

• Must be a licensed RN.
• Minimum 2–4 years of nursing experience.
• Clinical training experience required.
• Ability to teach CNA classes preferred; support provided on hire.

Gretna Health & Rehabilitation Center in Gretna is seeking an RN for our Staff Development Coordinator position.

The RN Staff Development Coordinator manages and provides required education to the entire staff and is also responsible for employee health.

Employee health encompasses administration and management of Hepatitis B vaccinations and PPD annual checks. Requires expert knowledge of basic nursing skills (patient assessment, infection control, IV therapy, medication administration, etc.) and a desire to pass that knowledge on to others.

The Staff Development Coordinator works closely with the HR manager to provide new hire orientation. The SDC evaluates the educational needs to ensure on-going continuing education and adherence to applicable required in-service education for all staff. Identifies, assesses, and implements in-service programs as needed regarding the satisfactory performance of clinical skills and knowledge.

Serves as Infection Control Nurse, reports infection control practices to Infection Control Officer and Administrator.

Qualified candidates must be a licensed RN, have a minimum of 2-4 years of experience as a nurse, and clinical training experience.

The ideal SDC candidate will have the qualifications to teach CNA classes however we will support them to achieve this educational goal upon hire.
