Job summary

Oakview Nursing and Rehabilitation Center is seeking a detail-oriented Staff Development Coordinator with a passion for training and educating stakeholders to deliver resident-centered care. RN licensure and CPR certification are required, with at least three years in health care, preferably long-term care.

The role involves developing in-service education, evaluating CNA competencies, and providing on-site training to staff. On-call rotation and periodic weekend hours are expected.

Qualifications

• The ideal candidate is very detailed oriented with a passion for training and educating stakeholders to provide the best care possible to residents.
• Minimum three years of clinical experience in a health care setting; long-term care experience preferred.
• Current/active CPR certification required.
• Knowledge of nursing and medical practices and long-term care regulations and guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement job skills training and in-service education as required by regulations and employee health monitoring for nursing department staff.
• Regularly check CNA skill competency, resident-focused care, and staff development needs; provide 1:1 instruction when needed.
• Provide skill training to new staff in deficient areas before allowing them to perform tasks with residents.
• On-call rotation and one 4-hour weekend shift every 11-12 weeks.
