Registered Nurse (RN) - Night Shift
Job Description
The Registered Nurse (RN) maintains the delivery of quality care by assuring the nursing care plan is followed. The RN supervises Licensed Practical Nurses, Certified Nursing Assistants, and orientees, while delivering superior quality care in a safe environment.
Responsibilities
- Perform nursing assessments on all patients within 8 hours of admission to establish an individualized care plan.
- Identify teaching needs and collaborate with patients, families, and the interdisciplinary team.
- Provide timely documentation of assessments, interventions, and responses in patient medical records.
- Participate in the patient rehabilitation program and utilize the nursing process for quality outcomes.
- Initiate discharge planning and patient education from the day of admission.
- Communicate changes in patient status to support continuity of care and safety.
- Supervise and train ancillary nursing personnel, using effective delegation and problem-solving techniques.
- Ensure personal and environmental safety according to hospital policies and procedures.
- Contribute positively to the unit's work environment through team-building activities.
- Assume charge responsibilities and maintain communication with management regarding service needs.
- Actively pursue professional development and continuing education.
Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure
- Current RN license required.
- BLS Certification required prior to first shift.
- ACLS Certification required prior to first shift (CIRH ONLY).
- Minimum of two (2) years of bedside clinical experience is required.
- PCU or Stepdown experience is highly desired.
Schedule
This position operates on a night shift schedule, consisting of 3 twelve-hour shifts per week.
