Job summary

Origin Travel Nurses seeks a Registered Nurse (RN) for a night shift in Charleston, WV. This 13-week contract involves 3x12-hour shifts weekly, with responsibilities across the nursing process and patient education.

You will supervise LPNs/CNAs, ensure safety, and participate in discharge planning. BLS and ACLS are required, with a minimum of two years bedside experience. ARMStaffing supports travel and placement logistics.

Job Description

The Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for maintaining the delivery of quality care by ensuring that the nursing care plan is followed. The RN supervises Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs), Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs), and orientees, promoting a safe and effective work environment.

Responsibilities

• Conduct nursing assessments on all patients within 8 hours of admission.
• Collaborate with patients/family and the interdisciplinary team to identify teaching needs and goals.
• Provide timely patient information and status updates for care conferences.
• Document all assessments, interventions, and patient responses accurately and promptly.
• Participate in the patient rehabilitation program, focusing on the nursing process.
• Initiate discharge planning and patient teaching from the day of admission.
• Communicate changes in patient status to ensure continuity of care.
• Provide direction, training, and supervision to ancillary nursing personnel.
• Ensure personal and environmental safety according to hospital policies.
• Contribute positively to unit functioning and team dynamics.
• Maintain communication with management regarding service needs and clinical training.
• Assume charge responsibilities as requested after the orientation period.
• Pursue professional development through continuing education and self-study.
• Prioritize and plan effectively to meet patient needs.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• BLS Certification required prior to first shift.
• ACLS certification required prior to first shift (CIRH ONLY).
• Minimum two (2) years of bedside clinical experience required.
