Registered Nurse (RN) - Day Shift
Job Description
The Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for maintaining the delivery of quality care by ensuring that the nursing care plan is followed. The RN supervises Licensed Practical Nurses and Certified Nursing Assistants while promoting a safe environment for both patients and staff.
Responsibilities
- Conduct nursing assessments on all patients within 8 hours of admission.
- Identify teaching needs and collaborate with patients, families, and the interdisciplinary team.
- Provide accurate documentation of all assessments, interventions, and responses in the medical record.
- Participate in patient rehabilitation programs and provide direct patient care.
- Initiate discharge planning and patient education from the day of admission.
- Communicate changes in patient status between care providers to support continuity of care.
- Supervise and train ancillary nursing personnel and delegate tasks appropriately.
- Ensure personal and environmental safety and compliance with all hospital policies.
- Contribute positively to the unit's operations and participate in team-building activities.
- Maintain communication with management regarding service needs, supplies, and training.
- Assume charge nursing responsibilities following orientation as required.
- Engage in self-driven professional development through education and self-study.
Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure
- BLS Certification Required Prior to First Shift.
- ACLS Certification Required Prior to First Shift (for specific units).
- Minimum of two years of bedside clinical experience.
- PCU/Critical Care experience is highly desired.
Assignment Duration
This is a 13-week contract position.
Schedule
Day shift: 3x12 hour shifts.
