Job summary

Firelands Health in Sandusky, OH, is seeking a part-time RN for Recovery Rooms, with a 10:00 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. schedule. This on-site role emphasizes nursing assessments, medication administration, and discharge planning in a fast-paced post-anesthesia setting.

Candidates must hold an Ohio RN license and CPR. ACLS/Basics in EKG are required within 6 months, and one year of experience is preferred. Skills in organization, service, and computer use are essential.

Qualifications

• Must have a current Ohio RN license and CPR prior to patient care.
• Prefer at least 1 year of experience.
• ACLS and Basic EKG required or obtained within 6 months of hire and remain current.
• Board certification preferred within 2 years in area of expertise.
• Excellent organizational, customer service skills, and computer proficiency.

Responsibilities

• Implements the nursing process with patients including carrying out physicians orders regarding diet, medication and treatment in accordance with Firelands standards of care.
• Performs assessments; monitors and ensures quality care through observation and evaluation; documents nursing interventions on care plans, medical records, and reports findings to physicians as needed
• Instructs patients, staff, and family members regarding treatments, nursing plans and related patient care directed towards a safe discharge.
• Responds to emergencies; maintains availability of medications and supplies; ensures cleanliness of equipment and environment
• Demonstrate service excellence and ACE – Attitude, Commitment, Enthusiasm. Act as an ambassador and advocate for FRMC.
