Firelands Health is seeking a RN, Registered Nurse for 4N/Med-Surg/Peds at our Sandusky, OH campus. This full-time, on-site role runs 7a-7p with a weekend rotation and the opportunity to support a dynamic inpatient unit.

Qualifications

• Must have a current Ohio RN license.
• CPR certification required prior to patient care.
• ACLS and PALS required or obtained within 6 months of hire.
• Board certification preferred within 2 years in area of expertise.
• Excellent organizational, customer service skills, and computer proficiency are a must.

Responsibilities

• Implements the nursing process with patients, following physician orders and Firelands standards of care.
• Performs assessments, monitors and documents nursing interventions and outcomes.
• Instructs patients, staff, and family on treatments and discharge planning.
• Responds to emergencies; maintains medications and supplies; ensures clean equipment and environment.
• Demonstrates service excellence and acts as an ambassador for Firelands Health.

What You Will Do:

• Implements the nursing process with patients including carrying out physicians orders regarding diet, medication and treatment in accordance with Firelands standards of care.
• Performs assessments; monitors and ensures quality care through observation and evaluation; documents nursing interventions on care plans, medical records, and reports findings to physicians as needed.
• Instructs patients, staff, and family members regarding treatments, nursing plans and related patient care directed towards a safe discharge.
• Responds to emergencies; maintains availability of medications and supplies; ensures cleanliness of equipment and environment.
• Demonstrate service excellence and acts as an ambassador and advocate for FRMC.

What You Will Need:

• Must have a current Ohio RN license and CPR prior to patient care experience.
• Current ACLS, Basic EKG, and PALS required or obtained within 6 months of hire and remain current.
• Board certification is preferred within 2 years in area of expertise.
• Excellent organizational, customer service skills, and computer proficiency are a must.
