Job summary

BayCare is hiring a Pool RN for the Cardiovascular ICU at Winter Haven Hospital, Winter Haven, FL. This pool position is in-person with a 6:45 AM to 7:15 PM shift and includes two weekend shifts every six weeks.

You will deliver compassionate critical care, coordinate with the care team, and participate in on-call avoidance while maintaining high patient outcomes.

Qualifications

• RN license required and in good standing.
• Diploma, Associate’s, or Bachelor’s degree in Nursing.
• 18 months ICU experience in Acute Care setting.

Responsibilities

• Care for ICU patients using nursing process and standards.
• Delegate care activities to health team members as needed.
• Coordinate discharge planning and referrals for continuity of care.
• Monitor patient vitals, respond to emergencies, document assessments.

Positions details:

• Location: Winter Haven Hospital – Cardiovascular ICU – Winter Haven, Florida
• Status: Pool - as needed

Requirements:

• RN (Registered Nurse) License
• Diploma, Associate’s, Bachelor's or Higher in Nursing
• Preferred Education: Bachelor's in Nursing
• 18-month's experience in the ICU in an Acute Care setting
• BLS certification with the American Red Cross or American Heart Association
• ACLS certification with the American Heart Association

The Pool Registered Nurse – ICU responsibilities and skills:

• Works in a hospital setting and independently cares for a group of ICU patients consistently using the nursing process and clinical standards
• Delegates appropriate patient care activities to other members of the health care team
• Care for patient needs throughout their recovery in critical care
• Monitor, record, and update care team on patient vitals and assessments.
• Identifying sudden or subtle changes in a patient’s medical condition
• Responding to medical emergencies for critical patients
• Coordinates and documents appropriate discharge planning and referrals to ensure continuity of care after discharge
• High emotional intelligence to create a positive patient care experience that includes simplifying medical terminology and concepts to the patient
• Professional accountability and development
