Job summary

BayCare Health System seeks a dedicated Registered Nurse for its ICU at Bartow Regional Medical Center in Bartow, FL. The role is full-time with a 6:45 AM - 7:15 PM shift and every other weekend, in-person only. On-call is not required, and a sign-on bonus may be offered based on ICU experience.

Eligible candidates should have an RN license and nursing degree (diploma/associate/bachelor). Preferred BSN and at least 1 year ICU experience with BLS/ACLS credentials.

Qualifications

• RN License required or eligible in the state of Florida.
• Diploma or higher in Nursing (Diploma/AA/BSN).
• 1 year ICU RN experience in Acute Care setting preferred.
• BLS certification; ACLS certification required or active.
• Participation in sign-on bonus based on years of ICU experience.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care to ICU patients using nursing process and standards.
• Delegate tasks to health care team appropriately.
• Monitor, document, and communicate patient vitals and status to the care team.
• Identify and respond to sudden changes in patient condition and emergencies.
• Coordinate discharge planning and referrals for continuity of care.
• Maintain high emotional intelligence to enhance patient care experience.

Requirements

• RN (Registered Nurse) License
• Diploma, Associate’s, Bachelor's or Higher in Nursing
• Preferred Education: Bachelor's in Nursing
• 1-year RN experience in the ICU in an Acute Care setting
• BLS certification with the American Red Cross or American Heart Association
• ACLS certification with the American Heart Association

The Registered Nurse - ICU Responsibilities And Skills

• Works in a hospital setting and independently cares for a group of ICU patients consistently using the nursing process and clinical standards
• Delegates appropriate patient care activities to other members of the health care team
• Care for patient needs throughout their recovery in critical care
• Monitor, record, and update care team on patient vitals and assessments.
• Identifying sudden or subtle changes in a patient’s medical condition
• Responding to medical emergencies for critical patients
• Coordinates and documents appropriate discharge planning and referrals to ensure continuity of care after discharge
• High emotional intelligence to create a positive patient care experience that includes simplifying medical terminology and concepts to the patient
