Job summary

BayCare Health System in Winter Haven, FL is seeking an experienced RN to join the Cardiovascular ICU pool. This in-person role features a 6:45 AM - 7:15 PM shift with two weekend shifts every six weeks.

As an ICU nurse, you will provide independent care for ICU patients, monitor vitals, collaborate with the health care team, and guide discharge planning to ensure continuity of care after discharge. Applicants should hold an RN license with a nursing degree and have ICU experience; BLS/ACLS

Qualifications

• Must have RN license and nursing degree or higher.
• ICU experience (18 months) in acute care preferred.
• BLS and ACLS certifications required.

Responsibilities

• Cares for ICU patients independently using nursing process and standards.
• Delegates appropriate care activities to the health care team.
• Monitors patient vitals and conditions; documents changes.
• Coordinates discharge planning to ensure continuity of care.

Skills

Requirements

• RN (Registered Nurse) License
• Diploma, Associate’s, Bachelor's or Higher in Nursing
• Preferred Education: Bachelor's in Nursing
• 18-month's experience in the ICU in an Acute Care setting
• BLS certification with the American Red Cross or American Heart Association
• ACLS certification with the American Heart Association

Responsibilities

• Works in a hospital setting and independently cares for a group of ICU patients consistently using the nursing process and clinical standards
• Delegates appropriate patient care activities to other members of the health care team
• Care for patient needs throughout their recovery in critical care
• Monitor, record, and update care team on patient vitals and assessments.
• Identifying sudden or subtle changes in a patient’s medical condition
• Responding to medical emergencies for critical patients
• Coordinates and documents appropriate discharge planning and referrals to ensure continuity of care after discharge
• High emotional intelligence to create a positive patient care experience that includes simplifying medical terminology and concepts to the patient
• Professional accountability and development
