Job summary

BayCare's ICU Critical Care-Adults unit in Dunedin seeks a Charge Registered Nurse to lead nursing care for ICU patients, applying the nursing process and clinical standards. You will supervise staff, coordinate multidisciplinary care, monitor vitals, and ensure safe discharge planning; requires ICU RN experience, CCRN/CDRN, BLS/ACLS, and a BSN or related degree.

This is a full-time, in-person role with a day shift from 6:45 AM to 7:15 PM, every other weekend, no on-call duties, at Mease Dunedin

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Lead ICU patient care using the nursing process and clinical standards.
• Supervise and coordinate care with the health care team.

• Location: Mease Dunedin Hospital – Medical/Surgical ICU – Dunedin, Florida
• Status: Full Time

Requirements:

• RN (Registered Nurse) License
• RN Professional, nationally recognized and applicable to the current primary area of practice - CCRN, CDN or CNN

• Bachelor's Degree in Nursing OR BS Healthcare related field OR an RN Professional Nurse Specialty Certification within 7 months of hire/promotion
• 2-years' RN experience in the ICU in an Acute Care setting
• BLS certification with the American Red Cross or American Heart Association
• ACLS certification with the American Heart Association

The Charge Registered Nurse – ICU responsibilities and skills:

• Works in a hospital setting and independently cares for a group of ICU patients consistently using the nursing process and clinical standards
• Delegates appropriate patient care activities to other members of the health care team
• Care for patient needs throughout their recovery in critical care
• Monitor, record, and update care team on patient vitals and assessments.
• Identifying sudden or subtle changes in a patient’s medical condition
• Responding to medical emergencies for critical patients
• Coordinates and documents appropriate discharge planning and referrals to ensure continuity of care after discharge
• High emotional intelligence to create a positive patient care experience that includes simplifying medical terminology and concepts to the patient
• Professional accountability and development
• Acts as a professional role model for other members of the nursing team
• Developing self and team members and sharing organizational information
