Job summary

Mercy Health is seeking a Quality Outcomes Specialist to ensure delivery of high quality care that meets regulatory standards and payer expectations, while supporting organizational objectives for quality and patient safety.

The role participates in quality reviews, reporting and performance improvement, supports committees and projects, and collaborates with leadership to drive data-driven improvements across the organization.

Qualifications

• RN license in the state of work is required.
• 2 years of clinical experience required.
• CHPQ or related quality certification preferred.
• BSN or healthcare-related degree preferred.

Responsibilities

• Participates in evaluation, monitoring and compliance with internal and external requirements; supports regulatory, accreditation, and certification surveys.
• Prepares and submits quality reports as required by external agencies and payors; facilitates and supports quality, patient safety, and performance improvement committee infrastructure.
• Provides support for organizational quality, patient safety, and performance improvement committees and projects as needed.
• Supports Medical Staff Quality and Peer Review.
• Promotes practices that detect, mitigate or prevent harm using highly reliable tools to improve patient safety and promote a just culture.
• Participates in performance/process improvement activities utilizing data analytics to achieve organizational goals.
• Supports compliance with voluntary, mandatory, and contractual reporting obligations using data analytics and analysis.
• Facilitates provider performance review activities through peer review and professional practice processes.
• Utilizes change management principles to guide performance and process improvement.
