Job summary

GBMC HealthCare seeks a Quality and Patient Safety Specialist to advance high-reliability and a culture of safety across clinical and operational teams. Under supervision, this role provides leadership, guidance, and subject-matter expertise to ensure compliance with policies, accreditation standards, and patient safety requirements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in nursing; Master's degree preferred.
• At least 3 years' experience in a Joint Commission accredited hospital or similar environment.
• Experience with quality improvement, patient safety, regulatory compliance and action planning.
• CPPS or CPHQ certification within specified timelines.

Responsibilities

• Participates in safety event reviews and analyses.
• Leads performance improvement initiatives and RCAs/ACAs/FMEAs as needed.
• Supports governance reporting and committee presentations.
• Facilitates physician peer review coordination and education.
