Job summary

Mercy - Rogers is seeking a Patient Safety Specialist under the Director of Quality to participate in the implementation, review and support of the facility patient safety program. The specialist will promote and foster a culture of safety throughout the organization.

In collaboration with leadership, coworkers, and medical staff, this role develops, implements, monitors and champions processes related to patient safety.

Qualifications

• Education in clinical or healthcare field required.
• Certification in patient safety or quality required within 3 years.
• 3 years clinical healthcare related experience required.
• Excellent written and oral communication and leadership abilities.

Responsibilities

• Participate in the implementation, review and support of the facility patient safety program.
• Develop, implement, monitor and champion processes related to key patient safety issues.
• Promote a culture of safety with just culture, reporting, flexibility, and learning.
• Collaborate with leadership, coworkers, and medical staff across the organization.
• Travel throughout the hospital as needed.
