Job summary

GBMC HealthCare seeks a Quality and Patient Safety Specialist to advance high-reliability care and a safety culture. Under supervision, you will guide clinical and operational teams to meet accreditation standards and safety requirements.

You will lead safety event reviews, performance improvement initiatives, and physician peer review coordination, partnering with nursing and medical staff to achieve measurable quality outcomes.

Qualifications

• Registered Nurse license in good standing.
• Bachelor's degree in nursing; Master's degree preferred.
• Experience in Joint Commission-accredited healthcare environment.
• Experience coordinating accreditation, regulatory and performance-improvement activities.
• Knowledge of quality measures (CMS, Leapfrog) and IHI improvement methods.

Responsibilities

• Lead and support onsite TJC and CMS survey activities.
• Review safety events and triage for potential liability; conduct analyses.
• Facilitate Comprehensive Systematic Analyses (RCAs, ACAs, FMEAs) and action planning.
• Collaborate with clinical, operational, and data teams to monitor trends and drive improvement.
• Provide staff education on quality and patient safety; mentor teams across units.
• Support governance reporting and provide clear quality performance summaries for leaders.
