Job summary

Baptist Health in Kentucky is seeking a Professional Development Specialist- Team Lead to collaborate with leadership and PDSs to assess educational needs, plan, implement, and evaluate innovative education across the organization.

The role promotes lifelong learning to enhance clinical practice, translates research into practice at the point of care, and mentors staff while supporting daily department operations for smooth service delivery.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in nursing (BSN) required.
• Master of Science in nursing degree (MSN) preferred.
• Active Kentucky RN License required.
• Minimum 3 years recent acute care clinical experience in area of expertise; leadership/management experience required.
• Effective written and oral communication skills; ability to present in front of large groups.
• Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) required.
• BLS Instructor certification preferred.
• Membership in Association for Nursing Professional Development encouraged; membership in clinical professional body recommended.
• Must possess MSN OR achieve certification in Nursing Professional Development within 2 years of hire.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate assessment of educational needs and plan, implement, and evaluate education initiatives.
• Foster lifelong learning to enhance competency and advance clinical practice.
• Serve as change agents and mentor leaders and staff.
• Assist the Director with daily department operations to ensure smooth service delivery.
