Job summary

Qualifications

• Graduate of an Accredited School of Nursing.
• One year of Pre Operative or PACU experience required.
• Medical / surgical nursing experience.
• Current state licensure to practice within good standings.
• Successful completion of BLS or BCLS within 90 days of employment or documentation of current BLS/BCLS certification.
• Successful completion of ACLS within 90 days of employment or documentation of current ACLS certification.
• PALS certification required when pediatric care is included within the facility scope services within 90 days of employment or documentation of current PALS certification.

Responsibilities

• Promote the mission, vision, and values of SCA Health.
• Assess patient’s preoperative and postoperative status according to facility policies.
• Describe underlying pathophysiology of disease processes.
• Apply perioperative care plans and scoring systems for transfer and discharge.
• Develop and implement individualized perioperative care plans.
• Prepare for and manage patient recovery from anesthesia (general, MAC, regional, local).
• Provide perioperative education and ensure patient safety and dignity.
