Job summary

Qualifications

• Graduate of an Accredited School of Nursing.
• One year Pre Operative or PACU experience required.
• Current state licensure to practice.
• BLS/BCLS within 90 days of employment or current certification.
• ACLS within 90 days of employment or current certification.
• PALS if pediatric care is included within 90 days or current certification.

Responsibilities

• Promote the mission, vision, and values of SCA.
• Assess patient’s preoperative and postoperative status per policies.
• Interpret information from monitors.
• Describe pathophysiology of common diseases.
• Develop an individualized perianesthesia plan of care.
• Implement the plan including recovery from anesthesia and various modalities.
• Provide effective hand‑off reports and educate patients and families.
• Document nursing care accurately and collaborate with the care team.

Education

Graduate of an Accredited School of Nursing

Current state licensure to practice

ACLS within 90 days

PALS if pediatric care included
