Job summary

Qualifications

• Graduate of an Accredited School of Nursing.
• One year of Pre Operative or PACU experience required.
• Medical/surgical nursing experience.
• Current state licensure to practice nursing.
• BLS/BCLS certification within 90 days of employment.
• ACLS certification within 90 days of employment.
• PALS certification if pediatric care is included.

Responsibilities

• Assess preoperative and postoperative status per policies.
• Interpret vitals and monitor patient conditions.
• Develop and implement individualized perianesthesia care plans.
• Manage patient recovery from anesthesia—general, MAC, regional, or local.
• Protect patient from injury and ensure normothermia.
