Job summary

HCA Florida Palms West Hospital in Palm Beach County seeks an RN Preadmission PRN to join our perioperative team. You will evaluate patients prior to surgery, provide education and prep, and collaborate with surgeons, nurses and staff to ensure patient safety and smooth workflows.

This role offers on-site scheduling and opportunities to contribute to continuous improvement while maintaining high standards of patient-centered care.

Qualifications

• RN licensure required
• ACLS/BLS/PALS certifications within 30 days of start date
• Associate Degree in Nursing or higher required

Responsibilities

• Evaluate patients prior to surgery
• Provide patient and family education surrounding the procedure and peri-operative process
• Prepare patient for surgery including IV therapy and preoperative medications
• Participate in surgical site verification and universal protocols
• Recognize and respond to patient emergencies
• Deliver high-quality, patient-centered care
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team including providers and surgeons
• Apply nursing process and leadership to deliver safe care
• Assess patient condition, monitor and document changes
• Educate patients and families about medical condition and follow-up measures
