Job summary

HCA Florida Palms West Hospital is seeking an OR RN PRN to join a collaborative surgical team. The role emphasizes preoperative assessment, patient education, medication administration, and strict adherence to surgical protocols in the operating room.

You will work with surgeons, nurses, and techs to ensure safety and efficiency, participate in rounds with leadership, and support continuous improvement in perioperative care. This position includes on-call responsibilities during select hours.

Qualifications

• Active RN license required.
• ACLS/BLS/PALS certificates must be obtained within 30 days of start date.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate patients prior to surgery.
• Educate patients and families about procedures and perioperative care.
• Prepare patients including IV therapy and preoperative medications; verify surgical site.
• Participate in surgical site verification, time-out and universal protocols.
• Recognize and respond to patient emergencies; provide high-quality, patient-centered care; work with the surgical team.
