Job summary

HCA Florida Palms West Hospital is seeking a RN Preadmission PRN to join its surgical services team. You will evaluate patients prior to surgery, educate patients and families, and prepare patients for procedures, including IV therapy and preoperative medications.

On-call duties apply during select non-business hours. Join a dedicated interdisciplinary team at a 204-bed facility in Palm Beach County and contribute to safe, patient-centered perioperative care while adhering to universal protocols

Qualifications

• RN license/registration required.
• ACLS, BCLS, and PALS must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate patients prior to surgery.
• Provide patient and family education for procedures and peri-operative process.
• Prepare patients, including IV therapy, preoperative meds, and surgical site verification.
• Participate in surgical site verification per hospital policy (briefing/time out/debriefing).
• Recognize and respond to patient emergencies.
• Deliver high-quality, patient-centered care with evidence-based practices.
• Be an integral member of an interdisciplinary team.
• Apply nursing process, critical thinking, and leadership to deliver safe care.
• Assess patient condition, monitor, and document changes.
• Educate patients and families about medical condition, treatment, and follow-up.
