Job summary

Mercy Cedar Rapids is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse for a weekend option role with a 24-hour weekly schedule. The position involves patient-centered care, collaboration with the unit team, and education for patients and families.

The RN will assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care while adhering to Mercy’s standards and safety guidelines. Requirements include Iowa or compact-state RN licensure, Basic Life Support certification, and department-specific certifications such as PALS/NRP

Qualifications

• Current license to practice as a registered nurse in Iowa or a compact state.
• Basic Life Support certification is required.
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) and Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) are department-specific requirements noted below.

Responsibilities

• Communicate accurate clinical information to patients, families, and co-workers at handoffs and other times as needed.
• Assess, plan, implement, coordinate and evaluate patient care based on the plan of care.
• Maintain real-time documentation of nursing care for the healthcare team.
