Job summary

Mercy Medical Center in Cedar Rapids, IA, seeks a Registered Nurse to support patient-centered care. The role requires safe, compassionate, and independent nursing practice, coordinating with the unit team and educating patients and families.

External applicants may receive up to a $15,000 sign-on bonus and weekend option for Saturdays and Sundays, with 2 weekends off every 6 months. The schedule includes 7a–7p shifts and 24 hours weekly.

Responsibilities

• Communicates accurate and clinically relevant information at hand-offs and when needed.
• Assesses, plans, intervenes, coordinates and evaluates based on the patient’s plan of care.
• Maintains real-time documentation of nursing care to support the healthcare team.
• Directs other licensed and non-licensed staff in the provision of care as assigned.
• Responds to emergencies within scope of practice and promotes patient safety.
• Delivers ongoing education to patients and families.
