Job summary

Origin Travel Nurses is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) for a 13-week night shift assignment in the Erie area. The role involves supervising LPNs and CNAs, ensuring adherence to the nursing care plan, and maintaining a safety-focused environment for patients and staff.

The RN will conduct timely assessments, coordinate care with the interdisciplinary team, and lead discharge planning from admission. A valid RN license with BLS (and ACLS for some locations) is required, with a minimum of two

Qualifications

  • BLS Certification required prior to first shift.
  • ACLS certification required prior to first shift for certain locations.
  • Minimum of two years of bedside clinical experience required.

Responsibilities

  • Perform nursing assessments within 8 hours of admission and develop individualized care plans.
  • Document assessments, interventions, and patient responses in the medical record.
  • Supervise licensed practical nurses and nursing assistants; promote a safe work environment.

Job Description

The Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for maintaining the delivery of quality care by ensuring adherence to the nursing care plan. This role includes supervising Licensed Practical Nurses, Certified Nursing Assistants, and orientees. The RN promotes a safety-focused environment for both patients and employees, ensuring that safety policies and procedures are followed.

Responsibilities
  • Conduct nursing assessments on all patients within 8 hours of admission, forming individualized care plans.
  • Identify teaching needs and collaborate with patients/families and the interdisciplinary team.
  • Provide timely patient information for initial and re-evaluation team conferences.
  • Document assessments, interventions, and patient responses accurately in the medical record.
  • Participate in patient rehabilitation programs, prioritizing education based on health care needs.
  • Initiate discharge planning from the day of admission and patient teaching for discharge anticipation.
  • Maintain communication with care providers to support continuity of care.
  • Provide direction and supervision to ancillary nursing personnel while promoting a safe work environment.
  • Engage in team-building activities to foster a positive workplace atmosphere.
  • Identify and pursue professional growth through continuing education and self-study.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure
