Job summary

Phoenix Children's Hospital is seeking an RN with 2–3 years ER experience to serve as a Patient Placement Coordinator. You will be the front line for families and providers, coordinating admissions, transfers, and bed availability while guiding patients to appropriate resources.

Role requires strong communication, clinical judgment, and the ability to handle complex cases. Full-time and part-time daytime/night shifts are available.

Qualifications

• Must hold an RN license.
• Minimum 2–3 years of Emergency Room nursing experience.
• No new grads admitted for this role.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate all admissions and transfers, and facilitate provider communication.
• Collect data for intake from ED, physician offices, clinics, and referring facilities.
• Document and participate in acceptance calls between physicians with a focus on quality and service.
• Collaborate with admitting, EVS, and case management to ensure timely patient access.
• Manage bed board and identify best bed placement to meet patient needs and throughput goals.
• Triages and prioritizes patient information using clinical judgment to support patient flow.
• Act as a role model for Family Centered Care and exceptional customer service.
