Job summary

Phoenix Children's Hospital in Phoenix, AZ seeks an experienced Patient Placement Coordinator. You will be the voice and navigator for families and providers, using RN expertise to direct admissions, transfers, and bed availability.

A required RN license and 2–3 years ER experience are essential. You will coordinate patient placement across departments, manage bed boards, and collaborate with admitting, EVS, and case management to ensure timely admissions and a positive family experience.

Qualifications

• Must possess an active RN license.
• Minimum 2–3 years ER experience required.
• No new grads; willing to work day or night shifts.
• Excellent communication and triage skills are essential.

Responsibilities

• Manages patient placement for admissions and transfers, coordinating with ED, physicians, and bed management.
• Maintains bed board accuracy and escalates capacity issues appropriately.
• Communicates with nursing units, EVS, and case management to ensure timely patient admissions and positive family experience.
• Demonstrates ability to triage, prioritize patient information and acuity using established processes.
