Boston Children’s Hospital is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse to join the Patient Flow and Capacity Center (PFCC). The PFCC coordinates admissions, transfers, and bed placement across the hospital and operates 24/7 in a fast-paced environment.

The role offers leadership opportunities, with cross-team collaboration, data-driven decision making, and ongoing professional development. BSN required with 3–4 years of RN experience; charge nurse experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) is required.
• Minimum 3–4 years of RN experience.
• Staff Nurse 2 or 3 level at Boston Children's Hospital is required.
• Charge nurse experience strongly preferred.
• Analytical skills to collect information, analyze, and design or improve systems.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills for conflict resolution and documentation.

Responsabilités

• Collect patient data and evaluate care requirements; coordinate with admitting, nursing, and medical staff to discuss placement and plan admissions, transfers, and discharges.
• Respond to customer requests; evaluate service delivery and propose improvements; escalate issues as needed.
• Receive and triage calls in a 24-hour transport communication center; gather necessary information to assess urgency and respond appropriately.
• Assist in developing and maintaining systems and procedures supporting program operations; work with nursing and interdisciplinary staff to implement changes and improve efficiency; monitor census forecasting and data analysis.
• Maintain knowledge of current nursing and healthcare trends through professional engagement and continuing education.
• Contribute to teamwork and cross-training for the Coordinator of Patient Placement role.
