Job summary

Northwestern Medicine seeks a Patient Flow Coordinator, RN (PFC, RN) to provide direct patient care and clinical consultation within the ICC locations. The role emphasizes independent practice, nursing process utilization, and collaboration with the healthcare team to promote holistic patient care.

Required BSN, IL RN license, BLS, and 2+ years RN experience. 12-hour shifts with weekend and holiday requirements; Epic charting experience preferred.

Qualifications

• BSN degree required
• Current Registered Nurse License issued by State of Illinois
• BLScertification
• Minimum two years of RN experience

Responsibilities

• Maintain a safe and clean work environment; ensure OSHA compliance and report deficiencies
• Perform comprehensive nursing assessments and document in medical records
• Demonstrate clinical competency including phlebotomy, medication administration, vital signs, and specimen handling
• Interpret abnormalities from tests and procedures and take remedial action
• Coordinate patient care through communication with clinical and administrative departments
• Triage and prioritize phone calls and test results; communicate plan of care to patients
• Manage urgent/emergent situations per organizational protocols
• Serve as a resource for staff and physicians and mentor clinical education
• Assist with policy development and education as needed
• Other duties as assigned
