Description:The Surgical Telemetry Unit consists of 19 beds.The unit has a mix of RNs, LVNs, and PCTs.Staffing includes 1 Charge Nurse, 3-4 Nurses, and 1-2 PCTs on the night shift.Patient ratios are 1:6.Equipment used includes Baxter IV pumps and Welch Allyn VS machines.The EMR system in use is Meditech.Candidates must possess a positive attitude and be a team player.Charge experience and preceptor skills are preferred.Typical procedures performed on this unit include ambulation of patients and wound care as needed.The department culture is supportive, with staff able to lean on one another during busy shifts.An admission/discharge team is available to assist with patient processes.
