Job summary

Stella Maris in Baltimore seeks a Nursing Supervisor to lead clinical teams at the Colombiere Jesuit Retirement Facility on Roland Ave. You will coordinate staffing, ensure regulatory compliance, and serve as the clinical resource during shifts, partnering with administration to resolve issues.

Qualified candidates hold an RN license with at least five years of nursing experience, BLS certification, and a commitment to compassionate, high-quality resident care in a faith-based community.

• Minimum five years of nursing experience.
• BLS certification is required.

Responsibilities

• Reports to Nurse Manager at Jesuit facility.
• Coordinates and monitors staffing levels to assure quality resident care.
• Assures adherence by nursing personnel to policies and procedures as well as compliance with federal and state regulations and standards of nursing practice.
• Actively participates in facility and nursing department quality assurance processes.
• Performs effective professional employment management per the standards of the nursing department and facility.
• Functions as the clinical resource for the facility during the shift; serves as the representative of administration during the shift; actively works to resolve customer concerns and facilitates service recovery.
• Demonstrates an ability to make quick, accurate decisions during an emergency, reflecting knowledge of infection control, emergency, safety and hazardous material policies and procedures.
• Achieves cooperation and teamwork through effective communications and positive relationships with residents, families and staff.
• Responds to the needs of the Nursing staff for essential supplies and equipment for all units and consults with appropriate department heads to alleviate such needs.
• Responsible for managing patient care, ensuring that is appropriate and timely.
• Supervising the nursing staff – making assignments offering guidance and support as needed.
• Ensure Quality of care – Maintain high quality of care, implement changes as necessary.
• Maintain appropriate levels of inventory for proper care of the residents.
• BLS
• Knowledge of nursing practices, patient care standards, and emergency care.
• Verbal and written communication skills required to allow for relating to the residents, and the entire healthcare team.
• Other duties within scope of job functions as assigned.
